Therapy at the Ranch
Are you curious about trying something new on your healing journey? Are you ready to practice and apply the skills you are learning in therapy? Do you feel like you have talked through your issues over and over again, but you struggle to make changes in your daily life?
Therapy at the ranch is designed to help you take your healing journey to the next level. As a support to the work you are doing with your current therapist or as your main therapy, therapy at the ranch can help you recognize and break through stubborn patterns that are holding you back from living life the way you truly want to.
Simply put, experiential therapy with horses works because horses respond to what they sense about you as you interact with them. They do not respond to your words or who you think you should be. They sense and respond to you on a deeper level, beneath all of the roles you play in your life and the life of others. They prefer the honest energy of you just showing up, as you are, so that real connection and foundational healing can happen.
No previous horse experience is needed. Angie Smith and I will walk you through every step of this life-changing therapy. Join us on the ranch, meet some incredible horses, and see for yourself what time outdoors working with a team of humans and horses can do for you. Our amazing team at S&S Counseling is ready to help you schedule a session.
(Therapy sessions are only available to clients currently living in Utah.)

In-office therapy
Do you ever feel like different parts of you want different things? Does this internal tug-of-war keep you stuck?
Human lives are very complicated and layered, and because of this most of us can relate to feeling pulled in multiple directions by different parts of ourselves. It can be tempting to wish we could simply overcome some parts of ourselves, but this can lead to an unwinnable internal war that leaves all parts of us frustrated.
What if all parts of you could have a seat at the table to bring your internal world into more harmony? This is one way “parts psychology” can help you in therapy. Parts psychology is a compassionate way to view your internal world as you heal and work toward changes in your life. You may have heard of Internal Family Systems Therapy (IFS) developed by Dr. Richard Schwartz, which has formalized parts psychology into a highly effective form of therapy. IFS is one example of how we can work with our parts in therapy.
My years of practice as a Wayfinder Master Coach add a unique layer of frameworks and tools to therapy sessions, including a deep belief that part of healing is discovering your own best wisdom comes from within.

MSW Intern
In 2025, I took a big step toward my dream of becoming a therapist. I was accepted into a Master of Social Work (MSW) program at University of Utah and began classes in August.
This means that I am able to see clients as an intern therapist. I receive weekly supervision from a highly-experienced licensed therapist as I learn to become a social worker and therapist myself. I also have a team of professors who are there to support me with any questions I have about the course work and clinical social work.
Is there something you are dreaming of doing and find yourself stuck? If you are curious about working with me and comfortable with my status as an MSW Intern, our amazing staff at S&S Counseling would be happy to help you with our intake process and to set up an appointment. Please contact our team directly to get started.
